Focus Features has released a new trailer for director Robert Eggers' gothic vampire horror movie Nosferatu,, which is a reimagining of the 1920s classic.
The trailer teases the terrifying tale that this movie will tell and like the first trailer, it only offers teasing glimpses of Bill Skarsgård’s sinister vampire Count Orlok. It’s looking like they are going to save the full reveal of the monster for the movie, which is great.
In this new reimagining, Nosferatu tells the haunting gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman (Lily-Rose Depp) in 19th-century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire (Bill Skarsgård) who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him.
The trailer starts with Ellen Hutter (Depp) saying "come to me" before we get a quick look at Count Orlok's eyes.
She also tells Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz (Willem Dafoe) a dark secret about her encounter with the vampire on her wedding day to Thomas Hutter (Nicholas Hoult). She is then warned that no one but her can stop him as death consumes all those around her.
When previously talking about the movie, Eggers said: “It’s a scary film. It’s a horror movie. It’s a Gothic horror movie. And I do think that there hasn’t been an old-school Gothic movie that’s actually scary in a while. And I think that the majority of audiences will find this one to be the case.”
The movie also stars Emma Corrin (Deadpool 3), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kraven the Hunter), Simon McBurney (The Conjuring 2) and Ralph Ineson (The Witch).
The movie will be released in theaters on December 25, 2024. Are you excited about watching this movie?
