Daisy Ridley Says of Her STAR WARS Return - "If I Didn't Think It Was a Story Worth Telling, I Wouldn't Have Come Back."

Trending 2 weeks ago

It’s been almost a year and a half since the Star Wars Celebration announcement that Daisy Ridley would be returning to the role of Rey Skywalker in a new movie trilogy.

The first movie, Star Wars: New Jedi Order, is currently in production, and isn’t due to hit theaters until 2026, so we don’t have much info on the plot. All we have for now is Ridley assuring us that the story is solid, once again.

In a new interview with French publication Premiere (via GamesRadar), Ridley said of the new films: "My thoughts on the matter are quite simple: if I didn’t think it was a story worth telling, I wouldn’t have come back.

“They just asked if I would do it based on a concept, without there being a script yet. But if I didn’t believe in the concept, the movie wouldn’t have happened.

“I took a day to think it over and I thought about how enjoyable it was to work on those films. This new adventure seemed interesting to me, so why turn it down?”

New Jedi Order will be directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Ms. Marvel) from a script written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders). Set 15 years after Episode 7, the movie will see the Jedi Order in disarray – and Rey attempting to rebuild it.

Are you looking forward to this new chapter in the Star Wars universe?
